Revitalization is happening in downtown Wadsworth since we became the State of Ohio’s 22nd accredited Main Street Community in 2016. In 2023 we will celebrate our 7th year as a state and nationally-accredited Main Street Community!
What this means for the Wadsworth community:
A vibrant downtown district that attracts new residents, new businesses, new employees, and provides a fun and safe historic district where the community can come together to play, work, shop, eat, and gather. A revitalized downtown strengthens the local economy and creates an enhanced quality of life for everyone.

- Traditional downtown events like Fireworks, Scare on the Square/Wadsworth Thriller, and Candlelight Walk
- Wadsworth First Friday
- Downtown art murals
- Preservation of downtown historic buildings

- Creating a vibrant district that has allowed over 30 new small businesses to open downtown since 2016, creating over 150 new jobs
